The babies at Children’s Place – Dewsbury have been enjoying the Spring Sunshine and heading outdoors.

Outdoor experiences can provide an opportunity to explore, discover and learn about the natural world, as well as being active, strengthening their fine and gross motor movement skills, testing their physical limits, and allowing babies to pull themselves up to standing, as well as getting messy with the activities and provision we offer outdoors.

Time spent in the outdoors is an important part of the day for all children, including babies.

Small inclines, tunnels and trails encourage activities such as crawling, rolling, stretching, running, and beginning to risk assess for themselves. Tyres, ladders, and planks provide opportunities for climbing, and low walls and rails at various heights allow babies to pull themselves up to standing.

Outdoors is GREAT!
