The children in the toddler room have been learning about colours!  The practitioners wanted to encourage the children’s learning in this area so introduced the colour monster book.
They set up activities that encouraged language that included colours as well as setting up an activity that involved children sorting coloured pom-poms into the same coloured cup using tweezers.  This was a great activity for promoting hand-eye co-ordination, language, social and emotional wellbeing, peer interactions and fine motor skills.
They then introduced Elma into the fun!  The children really enjoyed looking at the book with the staff and listening to the story, while continuing to learn about all the colours.
