The development of adventurous and independent children is further enhanced with outdoor play, especially as we have our amazing Forest School Programme coming soon! This will allow the children to really explore the great outdoors and equip them with skills that will really enhance their confidence and growth. It will also give children the chance to sledge in snowy weather, hold teddy bear picnics and treasure hunts as well as looking at the insects and the birds! Here at Heaton we also have outdoor facilities that the children can explore and have lots of fun with their friends!

Our happy and caring environment enables us to engage on every level with the children in our setting. Our babies, toddlers and pre-school children love spending their days learning through play in welcoming and challenging environments. In September 2022 Heaton Children’s Place was graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted. The report states “Children happily arrive at the nursery and are greeted by warm and caring staff. Activities that children enjoy are provided, which helps them to settle quickly. Children’s behaviour is good. They separate from their parents with ease and develop positive attitudes to their learning.”
