Spring Cottage Day Nursery
Every day at Spring Cottage begins with a smile.
Early starters can meet their friends, and tuck in to a breakfast of cereal and fruit. During the morning, your child might read their favourite story, explore a variety of sensory activities, enjoy some time with their key person or just want to get messy! Each activity is designed to promote learning and independence, in a safe and secure environment.
We also encourage every child to play outside in all weathers. Water, milk and fresh fruit snacks are always readily available, to provide energy and satisfy the thirst for adventure! If all that playing and learning becomes too much, your child can retire to the cosy area of our rooms for a well-deserved sleep.
After a healthy lunch we might visit the library for a story or even create our own music! Whatever activity your child chooses, you can rest assured that they’ll be having fun with their friends. During the afternoon, a high tea is provided. This can range from sandwiches to soup. You will be able to monitor and add to your child’s progress whilst they are at nursery, alongside a daily update on meals/sleeps and what they have especially enjoyed doing that day by using the specially tailored app.
It seems a shame that the fun has to end – but then again, there’s always tomorrow!
Ofsted Rating
In April 2019, Spring Cottage Children’s Place was graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted and it was recognised that ‘children thoroughly enjoy the time they spend in the fresh air’ and ‘the strong partnerships with parents benefit children greatly’.

Parent Testimonials
Here’s what some of our parents had to say about our nursery care
“My daughter has happily attended Spring Cottage since she was 1 year old. Soon she will leave to start school. I think she is a confident and happy young girl. Nursery has helped her develop social skills and taught her to share. Nursery provides her with opportunities and experiences which I cannot give her at home. I think she has thrived at nursery and this is a great start for school and education.”
“Fantastic nursery, my son loves it. The staff are brilliant and give regular updates on how your child is developing. He has gone from a clingy shy boy to a confident little toddler. Would definitely recommend this nursery.”
“Our son has been coming to Spring Cottage for just over a year. He has developed so much and the staff have built up a really good relationship with him. It’s quite amazing to see how much he likes being here. As working parents that means a lot.”
