The pre-school children have been exploring things all about winter. They’ve been experimenting with ice and how to melt it. They have been making some wonderful pictures and collages and having lots of conversations around winter, clothing they need to wear and the different weather they experience.
The children in the pre-school room have been celebrating Chinese New Year by practising with chopsticks and painting their very own Chinese Dragon.
The Poppy room children had lots of fun experimenting with shaving foam. Looks lots of fun!!!!
The children in the toddler room have been very busy recently! They were ‘making soup’ whilst playing with the corn flour by using language such as ‘we are making orange soup’! They used utensils to stir the mixture and transport in into bowls. This promotes learning in areas such as Maths- volume, measuring and capacity, Language- [...]
The children in the toddler room have been learning about colours! The practitioners wanted to encourage the children’s learning in this area so introduced the colour monster book. They set up activities that encouraged language that included colours as well as setting up an activity that involved children sorting coloured pom-poms into the same coloured cup [...]
The children in the toddler room have shown lots of interest in building with the loose part large bricks and have built lots of different structures. The practitioners extended the children's interest by creating a small world tuff stop that enabled the children to access more differing sized loose parts, tools, and tape measures. [...]
The pre-school children at are enjoying playing and exploring in the woodland garden. They are developing gross motor skills, knowledge and understanding of the world and personal, social and emotional development whilst being happy and healthy outdoors.
We are SO PROUD of the children and staff at our Halifax setting. Following on from their Overgate Hospice Reindeer Run in December they have a new total of what they have raised for the worthwhile cause..... a WHOPPING £943.60!!! Well Done Team Halifax!!!
The babies have been exploring ‘Winter’ using paint. They had such a fabulous time with this malleable experience. Just look at their happy faces!!
